lenten fast w/ James Franke

James Franke told me an inspirational story of how he fasted in a way he had never done last Lent. Easter turned out to be a total surprise with God telling him, “James, this Easter is special because you made this Lent special…”

Consider fasting this Holy Week. God wants to woo your heart this season!

Finally my 1st Communion in the Catholic Church

My family left the Catholic Church when I was 9.  Since then, I became actively involved in various Protestant churches/movements for 30 years. At the age 21, I became a licensed minister and moved to Russia to smuggle Bibles into the Soviet Union and plant churches there. After a year and a half, I returned back to the States to receive my parents’ and church’s blessing to marry my Polish Catholic fiancée, Iwona Bednarz-Major. After a long 18-month proving period, I finally received my parents’ blessing but not from my original sending church because the pastor recommended that I should marry someone else. Well shortly after marriage, I got ordained with a different church; and we then moved back overseas to serve as missionaries in Russia, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.  It’s been a wild and wonderful journey; but now I am finally returning home to the Catholic Church.

He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For My flesh is meat indeed: and My blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, abideth in Me, and I in him.” – Jesus
